Columbia Men's Wrestling knocked off Hofstra 32-6 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY on November 16, 2025. The Lions piled up bonus points throughout the dual and never really let the Pride climb back into contention.

Key bonus wins set Columbia apart. At 133 pounds Evin Gursoy beat Gauge Shipp 9-1 by major decision for four team points, and 174-pounder Nick Fine, ranked #30, handled Jurius Clark 8-0 by major decision for another four. Those majors established a clear scoring edge that Hofstra could not overcome.

The decisive stretch came in the upper weights. #12 Aaron Ayzerov finished Matthew Waddell by fall, and Vincent Mueller closed his match with a fall over Adrian Sans at heavyweight. Those two falls delivered 12 team points and swung the dual firmly in Columbia’s favor, turning what might have been a close contest into a lopsided final score.

Between the majors and the pins, Columbia collected 20 bonus points across four bouts, a margin that accounted for the bulk of the 26-point difference in the final tally. Hofstra’s six points couldn’t match the Lions’ run of bonus victories, leaving Columbia with a comfortable road victory in Hempstead.
