Bloomsburg @ Rider Recap

Rider piled up bonus points en route to a 42-3 win over Bloomsburg at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J., on Jan. 28, 2024. The visitors were held to just three team points as Rider converted several dominant individual performances into an overwhelming team margin.

A handful of bonus wins decided the dual. Tyler Klinsky’s fall at 125 pounds delivered the maximum six-team points, and Richie Koehler backed that up with a 17-1 technical fall at 133 to add another five. Quinn Kinner also scored a 17-1 technical fall at 149, and heavyweight David Szuba closed out one of the most emphatic individual performances with a 21-4 technical fall.

Those bonus victories weren’t isolated. Rider collected multiple tech falls and a major decision that flipped tight moments into a runaway score, creating a scoring run that Bloomsburg could not answer. Michael Wilson’s 15-4 major decision added valuable margin, and Azeem Bell’s 21-6 technical fall further widened the gap, making the 42-3 final feel inevitable by mid-dual even without a full blow-by-blow.

Bottom line, Rider’s ability to finish matches through pins and technical falls made the difference. Bloomsburg managed just three points overall, while Rider’s cluster of bonus-point wins turned what might have been a competitive meet into a lopsided victory.
