Rutgers @ Princeton Recap
Rutgers topped Princeton 32-7 at Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton, N.J., on Dec. 8, 2024, edging out the Ivy hosts by a 25-point margin in the dual. The final score reflected Rutgers’ ability to convert several matches into bonus points while holding Princeton to just a single bonus victory.
The decisive factor was Rutgers’ collection of four bonus-point wins that accounted for 20 of its 32 team points. Conner Harer picked up a major decision at 157, Jackson Turley delivered a fall at 174, Brian Soldano recorded a fall at 197, and Yaraslau Slavikouski closed out a major decision at 285. Those majors and pins swung the scoreboard and created a gap Princeton couldn’t close.
Princeton’s standout result came at 133, where Dan Jones scored a 9-1 major decision over Brandan Chletsos, the meet’s lone Princeton bonus. Beyond that victory, Princeton struggled to match Rutgers’ bonus production. With multiple Rutgers wrestlers finishing bouts by fall and major, the Scarlet Knights turned tight individual matches into a comfortable team advantage.
