NC State defeated Pittsburgh 22-13 in Raleigh, NC on January 24, 2025, in a dual at North Carolina State University. The Wolfpack collected three bonus-point victories that ultimately decided the meet, while Pittsburgh’s biggest moment came at 197 pounds.

The most decisive result came at 133 pounds, where Kai Orine dominated Tyler Chappell 17-0 by technical fall, delivering five team points and a major swing in the score. At 165 pounds Derek Fields followed with a 15-6 major decision over Jared Keslar, adding four more bonus points and helping NC State build separation.

Pittsburgh answered in the upper weights when Mac Stout grabbed a 13-4 major decision over Christian Knop at 197, providing a momentum boost and four team points for the Panthers. That effort, however, was matched later by NC State’s Isaac Trumble at heavyweight, who closed the dual with a 10-1 major decision that sealed the margin.

In the end the dual was decided by bonus points: NC State’s technical fall and two major decisions generated the bulk of their 22 points, while Pittsburgh’s lone bonus major kept the meet competitive but not enough to overcome the Wolfpack’s scoring runs.
