Indiana @ Ohio State Recap
Ohio State topped Indiana 32-6 in Columbus, Ohio on February 11, 2024 at The Ohio State University. The Buckeyes piled up bonus points throughout the lineup, turning a dual that might have been competitive on decisions into a lopsided score with six bonus victories worth the difference.
The most decisive moments came in the bonus column. Nic Bouzakis’ fall at 133 pounds provided a six-point swing that removed any doubt, and Jesse Mendez’s 19-6 major decision at 141 added another four-team points with a dominant performance. Nick Feldman’s 12-3 major at heavyweight closed out additional bonus scoring, and Brendan McCrone’s 14-4 major at 125 helped keep the pressure on Indiana in the lower weights.
Those bonus results were the turning point; Ohio State’s string of majors and a pin created a scoring run Indiana could not match. While several other bouts were competitive, the Buckeyes’ ability to finish with bonus points—including majors at 165 and 174 as well—provided the margin of victory and left Ohio State with the comfortable 32-6 final.
