The turning point was at 149 pounds, where Finn Solomon rolled to a 20-4 technical fall over Kelvin Griffin, awarding Pittsburgh five team points. Solomon’s tech fall was the most decisive single result of the night and gave the Panthers a significant cushion with one high-scoring win.

That margin was extended at 184 pounds when Reece Heller posted an 8-0 major decision over Jack Wilt, picking up four more team points. Those two bonus-point victories combined for nine team points, which ultimately matched the final nine-point difference in the dual and proved to be the separating factor.

Lehigh kept several bouts close, but without a bonus victory to counter Pittsburgh’s two, the Mountain Hawks could not overcome the deficit. Pittsburgh’s ability to secure a technical fall and a major decision swung the team score and delivered the 21-12 road win.
