Binghamton @ Hofstra Recap
Binghamton knocked off Hofstra 31-6 in Hempstead, NY on February 9, 2024, delivering a one-sided dual at Hofstra University. The Bearcats piled up bonus points when it mattered, turning what could have been a close meet into a comfortable victory.
The decisive stretch came in the upper-middle weights. Brevin Cassella ran Joseph Mcginty out 15-0 by technical fall at 165 pounds, and Jacob Nolan followed with a 15-0 technical fall at 184. Lou DePrez then added a 19-2 technical fall at 197, three techs that delivered 15 team points and swung momentum firmly to Binghamton.
Cory Day closed the scoring at heavyweight with a 9-0 major decision over Keaton Kluever, tacking on four more bonus points and helping push the final margin to 25 points. Those bonus victories were the difference in a dual where Binghamton’s athletes converted opportunities into maximum team value.
Hofstra finished with six team points but could not overcome the Bearcats’ string of bonus results in the key matchups. Binghamton’s ability to secure technical falls and a major decision in the featured bouts made this a decisive road victory for the visitors.
