Presbyterian @ VMI Recap
Virginia Military Institute defeated Presbyterian 30-10 in Lexington, Va., on February 21, 2025, at Virginia Military Institute. VMI’s ability to string together bonus-point victories decided the dual.
After Presbyterian’s TJ Rodier earned a major decision, 16-3, at 133 pounds to pull four points back for the Blue Hose, VMI responded with a run of bonus results. Logan Chambers picked up a 9-1 major decision at 165, and Luke Hart added a 12-4 major at 174, both worth four team points. VMI then closed out the stretch with two dominant technical falls: Braxton Lewis rolled to a 16-0 technical fall at 184 and Toby Schoffstall recorded a 15-0 technical fall at 197, each worth five points.
That string of majors and technical falls created the decisive scoring swing and left Presbyterian unable to overcome the deficit. Rodier’s major was the highlight for Presbyterian, but VMI’s bonus-heavy night produced the 20-point margin on the final scoreboard.
VMI’s depth through the middle and upper weights and those two technical falls were the difference in the dual, delivering a comfortable conference victory at home on February 21.
