Oklahoma State defeated Iowa State 27-12 in Ames, Iowa on January 26, 2025, in a Big 12 dual at Iowa State University. The Cowboys’ ability to produce multiple bonus-point wins was the decisive factor in the outcome, turning what might have been a closer meet into a comfortable 15-point victory.

Four bonus results stood out. At 174 pounds Dean Hamiti Jr. closed his match with a 20-4 technical fall for five team points, and at heavyweight Wyatt Hendrickson followed with a 16-0 technical fall, also worth five team points. Troy Spratley turned in a high-scoring major decision at 125 pounds, beating Ethan Perryman 20-10 for four team points, and Dustin Plott added another major at 184, downing Evan Bockman 11-2 for four more points. Those four performances accounted for the bulk of Oklahoma State’s scoring and kept Iowa State from mounting a comeback.

Iowa State managed to reach 12 team points, but the Cowboys’ bonus-point burst proved the turning point that decided the dual. Oklahoma State leaves Ames with a decisive road win fueled by two technical falls and two majors that swung the team score in their favor.
