CORVALLIS, Ore., Jan. 18, 2026 — Oregon State used three bonus-point finishes and two major decisions to pull away for a 24-12 Pac-12 dual meet victory over Cal Poly at Gill Coliseum.
CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State defeated Cal Poly 24-12 Sunday at Gill Coliseum, using a string of major decisions and technical falls to build a margin Cal Poly could not overcome.
The Beavers opened the bonus scoring when Nash Singleton recorded an 11-2 major decision at 141, adding a 3-point takedown early and a riding-time point to reach the margin. No. 10 Maximo Renteria followed with a 13-6 decision at 125 to preserve Oregon State’s early edge, and Gabe Whisenhunt’s 5-0 decision at 133 kept the Beavers ahead before Cal Poly began its comeback run.
Cal Poly rallied with consecutive decisions at 149 and 157. Andre Gonzales beat No. 25 Noah Tolentino 4-2 at 149 with a third-period takedown, and Jagger French delivered an 8-3 decision at 157 over No. 28 CJ Hamblin, using two third-period takedowns to swing that bout to Cal Poly’s side and keep the dual close.
Oregon State regained separation in the middle and late card. Matthew Olguin, ranked No. 25 at 165, produced an 11-3 major decision that added a bonus point. Daschle Lamer followed with a 17-2 technical fall at 174, building the margin with takedowns across all three periods and benefiting from two stalling penalties assessed to his opponent.
The Beavers clinched the dual with a technical fall at 197 from No. 5 Justin Rademacher, who recorded seven takedowns — five in the first period and two in the second — before the match was stopped at the technical-fall limit.
Cal Poly closed with two late decision wins that limited the deficit. Ceasar Garza earned a 5-3 victory at 184 after a third-overtime takedown, and Levi Bussey finished the dual with a 5-4 decision at 285 courtesy of a 3-point takedown with nine seconds remaining.
The gap in bonus points proved decisive: Oregon State converted three bonus results (two technical falls and two major decisions among its wins) that produced the margin in the 24-12 final. The Beavers improved their record with the Pac-12 win while Cal Poly’s four decision victories kept the dual competitive but short of overturning Oregon State’s bonus accumulation.
