Army West Point defeats Long Island University, 41-3, behind six bonus wins

Four technical falls, a major decision and a pin powered the Black Knights at Christl Arena on Feb. 7, 2026.

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point defeated Long Island University 41-3 on Feb. 7, 2026, building an insurmountable lead with six bonus-point victories across the lineup.

The decisive stretch came early and often. Charlie Farmer opened the barrage at 125 pounds with an 18-3 technical fall and Ethan Berginc followed with an 18-3 technical fall at 133.

Conor Collins added a 19-6 major decision at 141, and Cole Stone and Joe Antonio posted decisions at 149 (8-2) and 157 (8-4), respectively, to keep the momentum in Army’s favor.

Gunner Filipowicz recorded a 16-1 technical fall at 165, and Cooper Haase sealed the night’s most damaging single result with a pin at 174 that was recorded as a 6-1 bout score and yielded six team points.

Reid Schroeder capped the sequence of bonus outcomes with an 18-3 technical fall at 197, leaving LIU with a lone victory on the evening.

Anthony D`alesio provided LIU’s only win, edging David Barrett 4-2 at 184 with a takedown scored with 7 seconds remaining that proved decisive.

Austin Kohlhofer closed Army’s scoring at heavyweight with an 8-3 decision.

Several bouts featured late and sequence scoring that ended matches before the final buzzer. Farmer’s technical fall followed a run of takedowns and a nearfall, while Haase finished his match after two takedowns and an opponent escape recorded in the bout transcript immediately before the fall.

The meet was staged at Christl Arena as part of Army’s Feb. 7 home schedule and coincided with a senior-night recognition ceremony for the Black Knights.

Army’s team report and schedule records list the dual as a 41-3 victory and show the win coming on a night when the program celebrated a group of seniors and improved its conference standing.

A notation in the event summary also records an unusual administrative score entry for the dual; editors should reconcile the event-level recorded score with the bout-level and institutional reports if a single official dual score is required for statistical databases.
