Utah Valley defeated Air Force 24-15 in Orem, Utah on February 7, 2025 in a Big 12 dual. The margin came down to bonus-point production, as Utah Valley collected multiple majors and a pin that proved decisive over the course of the meet.

Utah Valley picked up four bonus-point wins that drove the scoreboard. Kase Mauger posted a 9-1 major decision at 133 pounds, Smokey McClure delivered a fall at 149, Terrell Barraclough racked up a 19-5 major at 165, and Jack Forbes closed with a 14-3 major at heavyweight. Those extra points from majors and a pin supplied the bulk of Utah Valley’s offense and created separation that Air Force could not erase.

Air Force did answer with a big result of its own when Carter Nogle recorded a fall at 141 pounds over Patrick Mullen, a six-point swing that kept the dual competitive. Even with that pin, Air Force was unable to match Utah Valley’s string of bonus victories; the Falcons picked up solid contributions but lacked the multiple extra-point outcomes that tilted the team score.

The turning point was Utah Valley’s accumulation of bonus points across several weight classes rather than a single match. By combining three major decisions and a fall with other standard decisions, Utah Valley built a cushion that carried them to a 24-15 win in Orem.
