Virginia @ Kent State Recap
Virginia topped Kent State 27-6 in Kent, Ohio on November 15, 2025, as the Cavaliers used bonus-point wins to build an insurmountable lead. The dual meet at Kent State saw Virginia collect multiple major decisions that made the difference in the final margin.
The separation came via three major decisions. At 133 pounds, Aiden Allen beat Nicholas Molchak 12-4 by major decision, and at 141 pounds Gable Porter scored an 11-2 major over Landen Duncan. Those bonus-point results were matched at 157, where #29 Colton Washleski defeated Silas Stits 11-2 by major decision. The three majors provided 12 team bonus points and formed the backbone of Virginia’s 27 points.
Those bonus victories were the clear turning point in the dual. Virginia’s string of majors created a scoring gap Kent State could not close, and Washleski’s ranked performance at 157 essentially sealed the outcome. Kent State kept the score respectable with non-bonus scoring elsewhere, but the Cavaliers’ ability to convert a handful of matches into bonus points decided this matchup in Kent.
