Rutgers defeated Drexel 28-12 at the Scarlet Knights in Piscataway, New Jersey on December 14, 2025.

Drexel supplied two of the night’s most talked-about results. At 133 pounds Kyle Waterman (#32) upset Rutgers’ Dylan Shawver (#9), edging him 5-4 by decision. Jordan Soriano (#23) turned another match into a bonus for Drexel with a fall over Tahir Parkins at 141, accounting for a six-point swing that kept the Dragons in the match.

Rutgers answered with a string of high-value wins through the middle and upper weights. Lenny Pinto (#4) put a big dent in Drexel’s ledger with a fall at 174, and the Scarlet Knights piled on bonus points the rest of the way. The upper weights produced decisive scoring that flipped the dual, culminating in a 25-5 technical fall at 285 by Hunter Catka (#19) that sealed the margin.

A run of bonus-point victories was the deciding factor. Drexel’s two big results kept the dual competitive, but Rutgers’ collection of pins, majors and a technical fall in the middle and heavyweight bouts created the separation needed to finish 28-12. The ranked wins by Rutgers in those bonus spots underscored the depth difference that ultimately decided the meet.
