Campbell Men's Wrestling topped SoCon rival Presbyterian Men's Wrestling 35-12 at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C., on February 9, 2025. The Camels piled up bonus points that proved decisive, outscoring Presbyterian by collecting three bonus victories to Presbyterian’s lone fall and cruising to a 23-point margin.
Logan Heil set the tone for Campbell with an emphatic 18-0 technical fall at 133 pounds, delivering five team points with a dominant performance. Presbyterian answered with a big result of its own when Ryan Luna pinned Hudson Waldrop at 141 pounds, a six-point swing that kept the Blue Hose competitive and showcased their ability to finish.
The turning point came when Campbell turned back the challenge with more bonus scoring. Dom Baker’s 15-4 major decision at 165 pounds added four crucial points, and Levi Hopkins closed the most impactful chapter with an 18-1 technical fall at 197 pounds, another five-point victory that put the dual out of reach for Presbyterian.
In the end Campbell’s accumulation of bonus wins made the difference, turning tight moments into an emphatic team outcome. The Camels’ three bonus-point performances versus Presbyterian’s single fall were the critical margin-makers in the 35-12 decision.
