Bellarmine defeats Presbyterian 56-3 in Louisville dual

Bellarmine piled up pins and tech falls while Presbyterian’s lone victory came at 184 pounds.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine defeated Presbyterian 56-3 in a dual meet at Bellarmine University on Jan. 18, 2026.

Bellarmine built its margin with a run of bonus-point results and falls that removed any sustained threat of a comeback. Damion Ryan opened the night with an 18-3 technical fall at 125 pounds, producing multiple first-period takedowns and a second-period takedown that ended the match.

Noah Hall followed with a technical fall, 21-6, at 165 pounds. Hall recorded seven takedowns in the opening period; the transcript shows the final takedown logged at the 43-second mark of Period 1, which ended the bout by technical fall.

Bellarmine recorded a string of pins in the middle of the lineup. Trayce Eckman pinned Fernando Dominguez at 133 pounds after building a 6-1 lead in the opening period. Zac Cowan secured a fall at 149 and was credited with an 18-4 team-scoring line in that bout. Jeb Prechtel answered an early deficit at 157, recording an escape and a takedown before finishing the period with a fall; the official credited points before the fall read 4-3.

At heavyweight, No. 33 Daulton Mayer opened with a 3-point takedown and closed the bout by fall, a 3-0 final. AJ Rallo, listed as No. 32 in the event rankings, was credited with a forfeit win at 141.

Presbyterian’s lone victory came at 184 pounds, where Reed Douglass defeated Gavin Ricketts by decision, 7-2. Douglass built a 6-1 first-period lead with two takedowns and added an escape in the third to secure the decision.

Bellarmine’s athletics release said the dual was part of a tri-meet that also included Sacred Heart and that the Knights used the same 10-man lineup across both duals, with multiple wrestlers earning bonus-point wins in each match. The release also reported that the two wins on the day improved Bellarmine to 4-4 on the season.

The combination of technical falls, pins and forfeits produced the decisive scoring margin in Louisville and kept Presbyterian from gaining momentum after the early matches.
