Northwestern @ Princeton Recap

Northwestern edged Princeton 21-19 at Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton, N.J., on November 23, 2025. The dual came down to bonus points, with both teams trading big victories that kept the score tight throughout the night.

Princeton’s two biggest wins were emphatic. No. 19 Marc-Anthony McGowan dominated at 125, taking a technical fall over Northwestern’s No. 31 Dedrick Navarro, 18-3, good for five team points. Later, No. 18 Kole Mulhauser scored a 17-1 technical fall over J.D. Perez at 184, adding another five points and giving Princeton crucial bonus scoring against higher-placed opponents.

Northwestern answered with bonus work of its own, racking up major decisions that proved decisive. Gunnar Myers produced a 15-4 major decision at 157, and Gabe Christenson closed out with a 13-1 major at heavyweight, each worth four team points. Those bonus victories, combined with other decision wins, offset Princeton’s tech falls and created the narrow margin.

In the end the dual was a back-and-forth battle of bonus points rather than a run of one-sided decisions. Princeton’s two technical falls kept the Tigers within reach, but Northwestern’s multiple major decisions swung the total just enough for a 21-19 road win.
