The deciding sequence came in three standout bouts. At 157 pounds Levi Haines finished Dylan Weaver by fall, a six-point swing that energized Penn State. Mitchell Mesenbrink followed with an 18-3 technical fall over Anthony White at 165 pounds, earning five team points and extending the lead. Aaron Brooks added another fall at 197 pounds against Michael Toranzo for six more team points. Those three results alone produced 17 team points and featured two pins and a major stoppage.

With Rutgers held to just three team points overall, the bulk of the dual was decided by Penn State’s bonus scoring and the ability to finish matches. The combination of pins and a technical fall created a gap that Rutgers could not overcome, and Penn State closed the meet comfortably.
