CSU Bakersfield @ Cal Poly Recap
Cal Poly topped CSU Bakersfield 30-9 in San Luis Obispo on November 14, 2025, in a Pac-12 dual that swung heavily on bonus-point victories. The Mustangs piled up six bonus results that separated the squads and put the dual well out of reach.
A handful of high-impact wins stood out. Ceasar Garza, ranked 26th, recorded a 20-4 technical fall over Chris Neal to earn five team points. Trevor Tinker, the 23rd-ranked heavyweight, closed things emphatically by pinning Mason Cover for six team points. At the middle weights Jagger French blanketed the scoreboard with a 22-10 major decision, and Koda Holeman, ranked 30th at 125, picked up a major decision of his own, 11-3.
That run of bonus scoring was the turning point. Cal Poly’s combination of majors, a technical fall and a fall created a scoring surge that CSU Bakersfield could not match; the Roadrunners managed nine points across the remaining matches but never recovered from the string of high-value results against them.
In the end Cal Poly’s depth and ability to finish matches produced the margin. Six bonus wins led to a 21-point victory and an emphatic team scoreline, while CSU Bakersfield will look to limit bonus opportunities in future duals to keep contests closer.
