Ohio State @ Chattanooga Recap
Ohio State defeated Chattanooga 42-4 at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on November 9, 2025. The Buckeyes piled up bonus points all night, turning a competitive dual into a lopsided score through a string of technical falls and a key pin. Chattanooga’s lone bonus came in the 149-pound match, but it was not enough to slow Ohio State’s charge.
The biggest name result came at 141, where No. 1 Jesse Mendez finished Hunter Mason by technical fall, 21-6, adding five team points and underscoring Ohio State’s upper-end firepower. Midway through the lineup Landon Desselle turned a tight sequence into a decisive swing when he scored a fall at 157, a six-point burst that put the Buckeyes further in control and made a comeback unlikely for the hosts. Chattanooga’s Billy Meiszner provided the night’s upset at 149 with a 10-1 major decision over Daxton Chase, the Volunteers’ only victory that prevented a complete shutout.
Ohio State closed the dual with authority in the heavyweight slot as No. 6 Nick Feldman recorded a technical fall, 22-5, to cement the final margin. A series of bonus-point wins from ranked wrestlers and depth scorers alike separated the teams; Ohio State collected multiple tech falls and a pin while Chattanooga could not match that level of bonus production beyond Meiszner’s major. In the end the Buckeyes’ ability to convert winning positions into bonus points decided the dual and left them with a dominant 42-4 road victory.
