DAVIDSON, N.C. — Lock Haven won the 2026 Davidson Duals at Davidson College on Jan. 16, finishing 3-0 and posting a +73 team-point differential.
The title was built on bonus-point victories across the lineup. Curtis Nelson opened the meet with an 18-3 technical fall at 125 and later pinned Chase Yasutake, while Gable Strickland supplied a 15-0 technical fall and a first-period pin at 133. Wyatt Henson recorded multiple technical falls at 141, and Lucas Kapusta added a 22-5 technical fall and a 9-0 major at 149. Nick Stampoulos produced a decision and a first-period pin at 157, Sam Gautreau posted technical falls at 184 and 184, and Kade Sottolano closed the card with a 21-6 technical fall at 285. Those bonus-point results accounted for the bulk of Lock Haven’s scoring margin.
Bucknell finished with a positive differential and a number of bonus results near the top of the card. Kade Davidheiser registered an 18-1 technical fall and a 14-0 major decision in his matches before being pinned later in the session. Bryce Manera supplied a 19-2 technical fall and a first-period pin at 133, Dylan Chappell posted a 14-1 major and later a fall at 141, and Noah Mulvaney compiled a technical fall and a major at 165 to help Bucknell to a plus-team showing.
North Dakota State provided some of the meet’s biggest upsets and pivotal swings. Devin Wasley edged Dillon Bechtold 5-0 at 197 with a third-period takedown and a riding-time point. Andrew Reall recorded an 11-2 major over Bechtold as well. Ezekiel Witt, who entered the event ranked No. 19, pinned Bucknell’s Kade Davidheiser at 125 and also beat Curtis Nelson 5-3 in a separate match, producing late shifts that affected several dual outcomes.
No. 23 Max Petersen’s day also shaped results at 149. Petersen recorded an 8-3 decision over Lock Haven’s Lucas Kapusta and added a 17-4 major later on, supplying bonus scoring that factored into North Dakota State’s team totals.
Brown went 1-2 but posted a plus-5 differential largely because of heavyweight contributions. Alex Semenenko recorded multiple pins at 285, including a fall over Bucknell’s Lucas Lawler and a separate pin over Presbyterian’s George Hopkins, and also won an overtime decision that supplied needed team points.
Presbyterian struggled at the event, finishing 0-2 with a -83 point differential as several matches ended early or by technical fall against its lineup. Multiple Lock Haven technical falls and pins came against Presbyterian opponents, contributing to the lopsided team total.
The Davidson Duals featured late swings and short sequences that decided duals: several matches were settled by late-period takedowns, riding-time points or overtime takedowns. Ultimately, Lock Haven’s accumulation of technical falls, major decisions and pins across the card separated the school from the rest of the field and produced the championship margin.
