National Duals Invitational Recap
The National Duals Invitational wrapped up at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 15, 2025, with 16 teams and 27 duals on the card. Ohio State finished on top at 4-0 with a plus 96 point differential. Oklahoma State (3-1, plus 40), Iowa (3-1, plus 29) and Illinois (3-1, plus 14) rounded out the top of the standings while Virginia Tech posted a solid 2-1 and plus 12.
Ohio State’s depth and bonus scoring were the engine behind that dominant differential. Nic Bouzakis’ fall over Iowa’s Dean Peterson and Jesse Mendez’s run at 141 with a major, a technical fall and a fall supplied big team points. Ben Davino at 133 produced multiple bonus wins and knocked off Drake Ayala, a top-three opponent, and Brandon Cannon piled up majors and technicals at 157 to push Ohio State’s tally. Even a narrow decision by Nick Feldman at 285 over Nebraska’s AJ Ferrari added a crucial upset swing late in the day.
Oklahoma State and Iowa each had clear strengths that kept them in contention. Landon Robideau gave Oklahoma State consistent bonus-point production at 157 while Troy Spratley collected falls and a major but also endured tight losses to Dean Peterson and Vincent Robinson in pivotal matchups. Iowa leaned on Patrick Kennedy at 174 and Angelo Ferrari at 184 for low-scoring, high-value decisions, and Michael Caliendo supplied quality wins at 165 despite an upset to LaDarion Lockett.
The tournament featured a string of upsets and bonus finishes that shaped the board. Minnesota’s Jore Volk upset Virginia Tech’s Eddie Ventresca twice, NC State’s Vincent Robinson and Virginia Tech’s Sonny Sasso turned heads with wins over top-10 opponents, and individual bonus victories across the lineup from falls to technical falls kept margins volatile. In the end the teams that paired depth with big bonus wins rose to the top of the standings.
