Nebraska knocked off Michigan 38-6 at the Bahna Wrestling Center in Ann Arbor on January 24, 2025. The Cornhuskers piled up bonus points all night, turning what might have been a close dual into a decisive victory before the final matches.

The margin came from a string of stoppages and techs. Caleb Smith’s fall at 125 produced six team points and Jacob Van Dee backed up his win with an 18-2 technical fall at 133 for five more. Ridge Lovett’s 17-2 technical fall at 149 and Antrell Taylor’s fall at 157 added another 11 team points between them, a swing that amounted to 22 team points from those four bouts alone. Nebraska finished with seven bonus-point victories overall, which made it very difficult for Michigan to keep pace.

Michigan managed just six team points and never found the necessary bonus answers as Nebraska controlled the scoreboard through high-impact wins. The Cornhuskers’ ability to convert opportunities into falls, technical falls and majors was the deciding factor, and those bonus wins carried Nebraska to the 32-point margin in Ann Arbor.
