Kent State @ Ohio State Recap
Ohio State blanked Kent State 44-0 in Columbus on Nov. 20, 2025, at The Ohio State University in a one-sided dual that never let Kent State onto the scoreboard. The Buckeyes piled up bonus points across the board, turning what might have been a tight meet into a rout by mid-dual.
The decisive stretch came in the middle weights. Ben Davino, ranked No. 2 at 133 pounds, put Kent State in a deep hole with a 20-4 technical fall that earned five team points. A few bouts later No. 1 Jesse Mendez closed a chapter with a fall, and that pin notched six team points and essentially removed any realistic comeback path for the visitors.
Ohio State’s depth showed in the upper mids as well. Brandon Cannon, the Buckeye at 157 and ranked No. 4, recorded a 21-5 technical fall, and the heavyweight slot was handled by No. 2 Nick Feldman with a 20-4 technical fall. Those bonus-point finishes kept the pressure on Kent State and widened the margin until the final buzzer.
Kent State couldn’t answer the barrage of majors, tech falls and a pin; Ohio State’s group of ranked wrestlers supplied the critical bonus points. The Buckeyes left Columbus with a dominant 44-point margin and a clean sheet on the scoreboard, while Kent State will look to regroup after a dual that was decided by Ohio State’s sequence of bonus victories.
