Lehigh used multiple bonus-point victories and a clinching pin at Jadwin Gymnasium on Jan. 18, 2026, to build a decisive road win.
PRINCETON, N.J. — Lehigh beat Princeton 30-9 at Jadwin Gymnasium on Jan. 18, 2026.
The Mountain Hawks produced a string of bonus-point outcomes in the middle weights that put the dual out of reach for the Tigers. No. 5 Luke Stanich recorded a 19-2 technical fall at 141, and No. 10 Max Brignola followed with a 15-3 major decision at 165. Graduate student Jt Davis pinned Princeton’s Gabe Garibaldi at 197 to clinch the meet for Lehigh.
The dual opened with a pair of top-15 matchups that went Lehigh’s way. No. 4 Sheldon Seymour edged No. 16 Marc-Anthony McGowan, 2-0, at 125 on two escapes that held up as the margin. No. 3 Ryan Crookham added a decision at 133 to extend Lehigh’s early advantage.
Stanich closed his bout with decisive third-period scoring, including a four-point nearfall and additional takedowns that produced the technical fall. Brignola’s major decision featured multiple takedowns and a late penalty against his opponent that widened the margin and supplied a bonus point for Lehigh.
Princeton responded with a trio of decisions to keep the dual competitive through intermission. No. 15 Eligh Rivera rallied for a 7-5 win at 149 and Rocco Camillaci edged Lehigh’s Griffin Gonzalez, 4-3, at 157. Holden Garcia added an 8-4 decision at 174 to lift the Tigers momentarily.
But the Mountain Hawks’ mid-dual surge altered the scoring balance. Davis opened the 197-pound match with takedowns and a multi-point nearfall before finishing the bout by fall, sealing the team outcome. Other Lehigh contributions included an 8-2 decision at 184 and a forfeit victory at heavyweight that rounded out the scoring.
Lehigh won seven bouts overall, including multiple bonus-point victories, and left Jadwin with the 21-point road victory. The result extended Lehigh’s winning streak to four and improved the Mountain Hawks’ dual-season mark, per the Lehigh athletics release.
The Tigers fell at home despite several close bouts and late comebacks, while Lehigh’s combination of tight decisions and bonus outcomes created the decisive margin.
