Purdue @ Gardner-Webb Recap
Purdue defeated Gardner-Webb 34-10 in Boiling Springs, North Carolina on November 1, 2024. The Boilermakers collected multiple bonus-point victories that separated the teams, while Gardner-Webb's biggest result came at 133 pounds.
Matt Ramos provided an early highlight for Purdue with a fall at 125 pounds, earning six team points and putting pressure on the hosts. Gardner-Webb answered in standout fashion when T.K. Davis scored a 14-4 major decision over Dustin Norris at 133, keeping the Runnin’ Bulldogs competitive in the early going.
Purdue then turned the dual decisively in the middleweights with a string of bonus performances. Joey Blaze ripped off a 20-4 technical fall at 157 to notch five team points, and James Rowley delivered a fall at 184 that added another six. Those bonus wins created the gap Purdue needed and limited Gardner-Webb’s opportunities to climb back into the match.
By the final whistle Purdue’s depth and ability to finish matches with bonus points made the difference in a 24-point victory. Gardner-Webb’s major by Davis was a notable bright spot, but Purdue’s accumulation of pins, majors and a technical fall across the lineup ultimately decided the dual.
