Binghamton edges Brown 21-20 after two early pins decide tight dual

Carson Wagner and Dillon Arrick recorded first-period falls that supplied the bonus points Binghamton needed to prevail in Providence on Jan. 25, 2026.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Binghamton edged Brown 21-20 on Jan. 25, 2026, as two first-period pins supplied the bonus points that proved decisive in the one-point dual at Brown University.

Carson Wagner opened the dual at 125 pounds by recording a takedown and a four-point nearfall before finishing by fall in the first period. Dillon Arrick followed at 133 with a takedown, a four-point nearfall and a second takedown that left him up 10-0 before he secured a pin. The two falls accounted for 12 bonus points that formed the backbone of Binghamton’s total.

Brown responded with a run of bonus outcomes through the middle weights. Khimari Manns ended his match at 141 by technical fall, 16-0. Austin McBurney followed with a 17-4 major decision at 149. No. 28 Max Norman posted a 10-1 major decision at 165, and No. 19 Andrew Reall produced an 11-3 major decision at 197. Those results produced the bulk of Brown’s points and nearly erased Binghamton’s early lead.

Binghamton gained a pivotal overtime victory at 157 when Fin Nadeau recorded a takedown with 16 seconds remaining in regulation to take a 5-4 lead, had the riding-time point awarded to force sudden victory at 5-5, and then won with a sudden-victory takedown to claim the bout. Carter Baer, ranked No. 21 at 174, added a third-period takedown and a riding-time point to win 9-3, and No. 32 Will Ebert collected a 5-0 decision at 184 that preserved Binghamton’s slim margin.

Brown closed the lineup with No. 32 Alex Semenenko winning 6-1 at 285, but those late points were not enough to overcome the two early falls and Binghamton’s overtime win.

Binghamton’s athletics site noted the result as part of the weekend slate and highlighted the team’s Senior Day recognition; Brown’s coverage placed the narrow loss in the context of a day that also included a meet at Cornell. With multiple bouts decided by majors and a technical fall, the dual ultimately turned on bonus-point scoring and one overtime decision.

The final lineup score was Binghamton 21, Brown 20.
