Rider @ Princeton Recap
Rider edged Princeton 23-19 at Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton, NJ on Jan. 24, 2025, picking up a crucial road dual in Ivy League territory. The four-point margin came down to bonus-point production in a number of high-impact bouts.
Rider’s middle weights provided the decisive lift. At 157, Colton Washleski scored a 14-6 major decision to notch four team points and swing momentum in Rider’s direction. Enrique Munguia followed with a fall at 165, a six-point bonus that extended Rider’s cushion, and Michael Wilson added another fall at 174 for six more team points. That sequence of bonus wins created the gap Princeton had trouble overcoming.
Princeton did answer with its own dominant performances. Marc-Anthony McGowan earned a 19-3 technical fall at 125 for five team points, and Luke Stout delivered a 22-5 technical fall at 197 to add five more. Those bonus victories kept the Tigers within reach, but the trio of Rider bonus results in the heart of the lineup proved the difference.
In the end Rider’s ability to convert matches into majors and pins was the deciding factor. With both teams trading big wins, the dual was shaped by a few high-value outcomes rather than a long string of narrow decisions, and Rider’s bonus points were enough to leave Jadwin with a 23-19 victory.
