Ohio @ Drexel Recap
Drexel held off Ohio 26-16 in Philadelphia on December 17, 2024, at Drexel University. The Dragons collected multiple bonus-point wins that separated the teams, while Ohio managed a couple of big stoppages of its own but could not erase Drexel’s cushion.
Drexel’s bonus production was decisive. Desmond Pleasant’s 14-4 major decision at 125 provided an early lift, and Kyle Waterman’s 22-5 technical fall at 133 piled on five-team points. The biggest single result came from Jordan Soriano, who finished Kaden Jett by fall at 141 for six points. Those three bonus wins created a gap that forced Ohio to chase the outcome.
Ohio did respond in spots. Garrett Thompson answered with a 15-0 technical fall at 174, a five-point swing that kept the Buckeyes within reach and showcased Ohio’s ability to score in dominant fashion. Still, Drexel’s combination of majors, a tech fall, and a pin proved the difference across the lineup and left the visitors short of a comeback.
Final team math favored Drexel by 10 points, a margin built on multiple bonus victories across the card. Individual bonus performances on both sides kept the dual competitive, but Drexel’s string of major and bonus-point finishes secured the 26-16 win.
