The most decisive moments were the bonus wins. Troy Spratley recorded a fall over Conrad Hendriksen for six team points, and Tagen Jamison also finished by fall to add another six. Daton Fix dominated Gabe Vidlak with a 20-5 technical fall, and Dustin Plott closed out another big margin with a 19-4 technical fall. Those bonus-point results, along with a major decision by Teague Travis, created an unassailable lead for Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma managed to piece together nine team points, but the Cowboys’ sequence of pins and technical falls supplied the separation. Oklahoma State’s depth and ability to turn matches into bonus victories decided the dual and left the Sooners scrambling to keep pace in Stillwater.
