Harvard @ Binghamton Recap
Binghamton Men's Wrestling topped Harvard Men's Wrestling 28-9 in a Jan. 27 dual at Binghamton University in Binghamton, NY. The Bearcats piled up bonus points that proved decisive, turning a competitive meet into a comfortable 19-point victory.
A key moment came at 184 pounds, where Jacob Nolan recorded a 9-1 major decision over Leo Tarantino. Nolan’s major delivered four team points and swung momentum toward Binghamton while limiting Harvard’s scoring chances in the middle weights.
The match was put out of reach when Lou DePrez and Cory Day secured falls that produced the biggest bursts of scoring. DePrez pinned Alex Whitworth at 197 for six team points, and Day followed with a fall at 285 over Logan Marissal for another six. Those bonus-point victories were the backbone of Binghamton’s 28-point total and left Harvard with just nine team points for the dual.
Harvard managed some offense, but Binghamton’s ability to convert opportunities into bonus points separated the teams. Between Nolan’s major and the two pins, the Bearcats turned close bouts into decisive scoring swings and closed the dual with a commanding margin.
