Stanford defeated Virginia 31-9 at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA on January 24, 2026. The Cardinal collected four bonus-point wins that put the dual out of reach, while Virginia’s lone bonus came at heavyweight.
A pair of ranked matchups produced decisive results for Stanford. At 157 pounds, #9 Daniel Cardenas dominated Colton Washleski (#28), earning a 21-6 technical fall that delivered five team points and extended Stanford’s edge. At 141, #19 Jack Consiglio downed #32 Gable Porter 9-1 by major decision for four more bonus points, another clear swing in Stanford’s favor.
Stanford added a pair of bonus victories to seal the outcome. Abraham Wojcikiewicz posted a 9-1 major decision over Griffin Gammell, and #14 Angelo Posada finished Steven Burrell Jr. by fall, the pin supplying six team points that effectively wrapped up the dual for the Cardinal.
Virginia’s highlight came at 285, where #31 Brenan Morgan answered with a fall over Luke Duthie to pick up six points for the Cavaliers. Even with that result, Stanford’s combination of majors, a tech fall, and a pin produced the margin that mattered. The Cardinal left Charlottesville with a 31-9 road win.
