Bellarmine’s bonus-point burst keys 31-9 SoCon win over Campbell

Nate Higley’s fall and Gavin Ricketts’ major decision supplied the bonus margins that decided the dual in Louisville.

Bellarmine defeated Campbell 31-9 in a Southern Conference dual in Louisville on Feb. 6, 2026. The Knights turned timely bonus-point finishes into separation across the lineup.

The deciding swing came at 149 pounds when Nate Higley recorded a fall over Jonathan Chang, a six-team-point shift that pushed Bellarmine further ahead. Gavin Ricketts later piled on with an 11-2 major decision at 184, adding another multi-point bonus. Those two bonus outcomes, paired with a forfeit win at 165, gave Bellarmine the extra margin it needed as the dual unfolded.

Campbell answered with a late spark when Ryan Bolletino pinned Tyler Martinez at 174, but the Camel’s lone bonus could not erase the hosts’ earlier bonus production. Bellarmine built an early advantage by winning the opening stretch of bouts, and the Knights carried that lead to the final math.

No. 32 AJ Rallo contributed a controlled 4-0 decision at 141; his match featured a late takedown in the third period that helped put the bout out of reach. At heavyweight, No. 33 Daulton Mayer eked out a 4-3 decision to close the middle portion of the dual and preserve Bellarmine’s team cushion.

Other decisions filled out the scoreline, but the core narrative was straightforward: Bellarmine’s two bonus victories and a forfeit proved decisive. The Knights were competing at home during a weekend slate at Knights Hall, while Campbell — 2-16 on the year — will return home for its next dual as it closes the season.
