South Dakota State downed California Baptist 39-3 at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD on January 21, 2024. The Jackrabbits piled up bonus points all evening, turning what might have been a close dual into a lopsided win by a 36-point margin.

A key moment came at 174 pounds when Cade DeVos dominated Justin Phillips 23-4 for a technical fall, delivering five team points and swinging the scoreboard decisively in SDSU’s favor. That result was the centerpiece of a run of bonus wins that separated the teams.

Bennett Berge’s fall over Nathan Haas provided six team points and effectively put the dual out of reach, and Tanner Sloan added another five points with a 17-1 technical fall at 197 to extend the gap. Those consecutive bonus victories removed any comeback chance for California Baptist.

Luke Rasmussen closed the scoring with a fall at heavyweight, and South Dakota State also collected major decisions at 133 (Logan Graf over Mitchell Neiner 10-1) and 157 (Cael Swensen 15-2) to pad the margin.
