The decisive moments came in two standout victories for SIUE. At 141 pounds Danny Martinez turned a big opportunity into a fall, delivering six team points and a momentum-shifting win. Hayden Whidden also produced bonus points with a dominant 12-0 major decision at 149, tacking on four more team points and building a margin that Cal Baptist struggled to overcome. Those two bonus scores gave SIUE a cushion that proved critical in a meet with multiple bonus outcomes.

California Baptist countered with two major decisions of their own. Drayden Morton picked up a 9-1 major at 157, and Tristan Kemp closed his bout at 285 with a 13-4 major decision, combining for eight bonus points. Even with those efforts, the combination of Martinez’s fall and Whidden’s shutout major provided SIUE the extra edge needed to finish ahead by 11.
