NC State @ Ohio State Recap
Ohio State edged NC State 26-10 in Columbus on Dec. 12, 2025, taking the dual at The Ohio State University. The Buckeyes put together enough bonus points to separate the teams, while NC State picked up a couple of big individual wins that kept the margin from growing larger.
The difference was Ohio State’s bonus-point production. Jesse Mendez, the Buckeye at 141 and a reigning national-level presence, rolled to a 21-6 technical fall for five team points. That performance was matched by a cluster of major decisions from Ohio State, including Brandon Cannon’s 9-1 major at 157 and the 12-1 major by Dylan Fishback at 184, with Luke Geog also scoring a major at 197. Those bonus wins supplied the extra points that decided the dual.
NC State had two notable results of its own. Vincent Robinson, the Wolfpack’s No. 1 at 125, dominated Brendan McCrone for a 12-3 major decision, and Isaac Trumble pulled off an upset at heavyweight, beating No. 2 Nick Feldman 5-1. Those efforts kept NC State competitive on the scoreboard but were not enough to overcome the Buckeyes’ barrage of bonus victories.
Other tight matches included decisions in the middle weights, but Ohio State’s ability to turn several matches into majors and a technical fall ultimately made the difference in a 26-10 team win for the Buckeyes in Columbus.
