Lehigh @ Bucknell

Lehigh men’s wrestling topped Bucknell 29-13 at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., on February 7, 2025, winning by 16 points in the dual. The margin came down to bonus-point production, with Lehigh collecting multiple extra-point victories to separate the teams.

Lehigh’s bonus work included a dominant showing from Malyke Hines at 149, a 19-4 technical fall that pushed the scoreboard in Lehigh’s favor, and Michael Beard’s 21-6 technical fall at 197, which provided another five-team-point swing. Owen Trephan added a major decision, 21-8 at 285, and those bonus results proved decisive in building and protecting the lead.

Bucknell had pivotal moments of its own. Dylan Chappell earned a fall over Seamus Mack at 141 for six team points, and Noah Mulvaney notched a 13-4 major decision at 165 to keep Bucknell within striking distance. Those victories kept the dual competitive, but they were offset by Lehigh’s string of bonus wins.

In the end Lehigh’s ability to convert a handful of matches into tech falls and majors created the separation needed to secure the 29-13 final. Bucknell picked up key bonus points, but could not match Lehigh’s two technical falls and major, which decided the dual.
