Army West Point @ Lehigh Recap
Lehigh topped Army 27-10 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., on Feb. 1, 2025. The Mountain Hawks picked up the margin through multiple bonus-point wins that swung the dual in their favor.
Carter Bailey’s dominant 12-1 major decision at 141 pounds got Lehigh crucial bonus points early, and Logan Rozynski’s victory by fall at 157 added six team points that widened the gap. Army answered with a big effort at 165, where Gunner Filipowicz scored a 20-6 major decision over Richie Grungo, but that was not enough to erase Lehigh’s cushion. Michael Beard delivered a punchy finish at 197, earning a 20-3 technical fall that essentially put the meet out of reach for the Black Knights.
In the end, the deciding factor was Lehigh’s string of bonus victories. The combination of a major, a pin, and a technical fall accounted for the margin and left Army chasing. Army showed signs of life in the middle weights, but Lehigh’s ability to convert on bonus opportunities determined the outcome and secured the 27-10 win.
