American @ Lehigh Recap
Lehigh Men's Wrestling topped American University 32-7 in Bethlehem, PA on January 11, 2026, closing the dual with a decisive margin at Lehigh University. The outcome was driven by a run of bonus-point victories that tilted the team score firmly in Lehigh’s favor.
A trio of Lehigh tech falls did most of the damage. #4 Luke Stanich at 141 recorded a 20-3 technical fall for five team points, and #10 Max Brignola at 165 followed with a 21-6 technical fall, another five-point swing. At 197, #22 Jt Davis added a 17-1 technical fall to extend Lehigh’s cushion with yet another bonus.
American got its highlight when Leo Maestas at 149 notched a 12-4 major decision over Owen Reinsel, the match that supplied American’s only bonus points and kept them competitive on the scoreboard. Aside from that effort, Lehigh’s ability to convert opportunities into bonus points proved decisive.
By the end, Lehigh’s string of bonus victories — particularly the three technical falls — created the separation that produced the 25-point final margin. The talent near the upper weights and those bonus-point finishes made the difference in this EIWA dual.
