Wisconsin @ Army West Point

Wisconsin edged Army 24-12 at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY on December 6, 2025. The Badgers piled up enough bonus points to create separation, while Army picked up a couple of tight decisions to stay competitive through much of the lineup.

Army’s biggest moment came when Ethan Berginc (#17) topped Zan Fugitt (#5) 7-4, a ranked upset that kept the Black Knights within reach. That victory was one of Army’s brighter notes and prevented Wisconsin from running away early, but it would not be enough on its own.

The dual swung back toward Wisconsin thanks to a string of bonus-point wins. Joseph Zargo (#15) blew the match open with a 22-6 technical fall at 149 pounds, and Wyatt Ingham added a 16-1 technical fall at 197 to pile up major team points. Braxton Amos (#18) closed the gap at heavyweight with a 13-0 major decision, and those bonus results ultimately decided the meet by inflating Wisconsin’s team total.

In the end the Badgers’ ability to convert matches into majors and technical falls made the difference in a 12-point victory. Army showed it could hit back in the rankings, but Wisconsin’s bonus-point production was the clear factor in the final 24-12 score.
