Oklahoma defeats Air Force 38-4 behind four bonus wins
Sooners used multiple pins and a technical fall at McCasland Field House to turn a close early stretch into a lopsided Big 12 dual.
NORMAN, Okla. — Oklahoma defeated Air Force 38-4 at McCasland Field House on Jan. 16, 2026.
No. 27 Conrad Hendriksen opened the dual with a comeback, rallying from a 4-0 deficit to beat Tucker Owens 7-4 in sudden-victory overtime. An overtime stalling call on Owens preceded Hendriksen’s winning takedown.
Air Force’s only bonus result came at 133 pounds when Gavin Caprella blanked Tyson Charmoli 8-0 by major decision to supply four team points for the Falcons.
Oklahoma seized control with a run of bonus-point wins beginning at 157. Layton Schneider recorded a first-period fall, No. 8 Carter Schubert pinned his opponent at 174 and Anders Thompson added a fall at 184. Anthony Harris Jr. closed the upperweights with a 20-5 technical fall at 197, pushing Oklahoma well clear.
Midcard decisions also favored the Sooners. No. 29 Tyler Wells beat Carter Nogle 10-5, using a late third-period takedown and a riding-time point, and No. 33 Peyten Kellar posted a 6-0 decision at 165 that included a second-period reversal, a third-period takedown and a riding-time point.
No. 21 Juan Mora secured the final bout with a 4-2 decision at heavyweight to seal the team score. Oklahoma won nine of 10 bouts in the dual.
The victory gave Oklahoma its first Big 12 dual win of the season, while Air Force dropped the meeting in Norman.
