Campbell @ Wyoming Recap
Wyoming Men's Wrestling picked up a 28-12 dual victory over Campbell Men's Wrestling in Laramie on October 31, 2024. The Cowboys’ run of bonus-point wins proved decisive in a meet that featured several lopsided results at the upper weights.
Stockton O`brien’s fall at 133 pounds was the biggest single swing for Wyoming, the pin worth six team points and forcing Campbell to play catch-up. Wyoming added a dominating major decision at 184, as Eddie Neitenbach blanked Cole Rees 12-0 to tack on four more bonus points. Joey Novak also supplied a late stoppage at 197, pinning Mike Slade for another six-team-point boost that helped Wyoming build an insurmountable lead.
Campbell answered with two explosive wins, but they were not enough to overcome Wyoming’s bonus scoring. Dom Baker put together a strong performance at 174, turning a match into a 13-5 major decision for four team points. At heavyweight, Taye Ghadiali delivered a technical fall, beating Kevin Zimmer 20-5 and adding five team points to Campbell’s total.
The dual came down to Wyoming’s ability to convert opportunities into bonus points. Those three bonus outcomes for the Cowboys created the margin of victory despite Campbell’s majors and technical fall. Final score: Wyoming 28, Campbell 12.
