Oregon State routs CSU Bakersfield 39-6 in Bakersfield
Beavers collected multiple technical falls, a major decision and a pin to build a 33-point road victory Friday at the Icardo Center.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Oregon State defeated CSU Bakersfield 39-6 on Friday at the Icardo Center, using a string of bonus-point results and a late fall to build a decisive margin.
No. 5 Justin Rademacher closed the dual with a 21-4 technical fall at 197, ending the bout after a four-point nearfall late in the second period and a third-period takedown that completed the stoppage.
No. 31 TJ McDonnell recorded the dual’s only pin, finishing Jeremy Manibog at 184 after a late second-period takedown and securing the fall before the final horn.
Oregon State piled up bonus points across the lineup. No. 25 Noah Tolentino posted a 19-4 technical fall at 149 and No. 28 CJ Hamblin recorded a 19-2 technical fall at 157. No. 22 Nash Singleton earned a 13-3 major decision at 141, and No. 32 Gabe Whisenhunt took a 10-5 decision at 133.
Hunter Taylor opened scoring for the visitors with a 19-3 technical fall at 125, a bout that included multiple takedowns and opponent penalties. Keller Rock’s 5-0 decision at 165 and Daschle Lamer’s 2-0 decision at 174 added margin in the middle weights.
The Beavers won nine bouts and recorded 27 takedowns, according to the school’s recap of the meet, and several of those victories produced extra-team points that pushed the score beyond Bakersfield’s reach.
