Nebraska @ Northwestern Recap
Nebraska beat Northwestern 39-3 in Illinois on January 26, 2024, cruising to a 36-point dual meet victory in Big Ten action. The Cornhuskers piled up bonus points across the card, turning a one-sided day into a rout with several dominant performances.
What decided the dual was Nebraska’s string of bonus-point wins. Jacob Van Dee put up a 17-2 technical fall at 133 pounds, and Ridge Lovett sealed matters with a fall at 149 for the full six-team points. Silas Allred added a 19-4 technical fall at 197, and Harley Andrews shut down the heavyweight bout with a 15-0 technical fall. Those decisive results were backed up by other bonus wins on the card, leaving Northwestern with just a few decisions and no answers to Nebraska’s firepower.
The combination of multiple technical falls and a pin prevented any chance of a comeback, and Nebraska’s depth showed up across weight classes. With six bonus-point victories and a balanced attack, the Cornhuskers left Evanston with a commanding road win and Northwestern was held to just three team points.
