Bucknell @ LIU Recap
Bucknell rolled to a 39-0 road victory over Long Island University on January 4, 2026 at Long Island University in Brookville, New York. The Bison put the dual out of reach with multiple bonus-point finishes and never trailed in a shutout win.
The deciding stretch came courtesy of a string of bonus victories in the middle weights. #31 Dylan Chappell recorded a fall at 141 to deliver six team points, and Riley Bower added another fall at 149. Myles Takats, ranked #15, also scored a fall at 174, keeping Bucknell firmly in control. Those pins, combined with other bonus results, flipped the math heavily in Bucknell’s favor.
At 197, #12 Dillon Bechtold closed his match with a 19-1 technical fall, adding five team points and further widening the margin. Earlier, Kade Davidheiser’s 10-2 major decision at 125 supplied four more points, so Bucknell’s ability to turn wins into bonus points was the clear difference in the dual.
Bucknell finished with five bonus-point victories overall, and the cluster of falls and the tech fall removed any chance of a comeback for LIU. Individual performances from the ranked wrestlers and consistent bonus scoring made this a comprehensive win for Bucknell.
