Missouri @ Oklahoma Recap
Oklahoma Men's Wrestling beat Missouri Men's Wrestling 23-13 in Norman, OK on February 1, 2025 at the University of Oklahoma. The Sooners’ advantage came from multiple bonus-point results that ultimately created separation on the scoreboard.
Missouri’s 165-pounder Cam Steed delivered a big result for the Tigers, beating Tate Picklo 13-3 by major decision to pick up four team points and keep Missouri within reach. That quality victory was one of Missouri’s clearest moments, but it was not enough to overcome Oklahoma’s bonus scoring.
The turning point was Oklahoma’s pair of bonus wins. Gaven Sax closed a match by fall at 174 pounds, a six-point swing that erased deficits and added decisive margin. At 184 pounds Deanthony Parker Jr. went on to win 19-4 by technical fall, worth five team points. Those two performances accounted for 11 of Oklahoma’s 23 team points and provided the decisive cushion that Missouri could not match.
Missouri showed grit and produced a key major at 165, but Oklahoma’s bonus-point production in the middle weights decided the dual. The Sooners left Norman with the 10-point victory while Missouri will look to build on the competitive bouts and chase more bonus opportunities in their next dual.
