Rider @ West Virginia Recap
West Virginia men’s wrestling beat Rider 28-10 at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV on November 23, 2025. The Mountaineers pulled away with a string of bonus-point victories that swung the dual in their favor.
The decisive stretch came in the middle weights. #1 Ty Watters finished 18-2 by technical fall over Liam Scrivanich for five team points, and #20 Brody Conley followed with a fall over Enrique Munguia that added six points. #17 Ian Bush then closed out that run with a 16-0 technical fall over JP Hangey, tacking on another five bonus points and creating a gap Rider could not overcome.
Rider’s most notable result was a major upset at 125 pounds when #20 Tyler Klinsky beat #9 Jett Strickenberger 20-11 by major decision for four team points. Klinsky’s win was a highlight for the Broncs, but the single bonus from that match was not enough to counter West Virginia’s multiple bonus wins.
By the final whistle West Virginia’s bonus-heavy output separated the teams, the Mountaineers collecting the high-value victories that decided the dual while Rider picked up a big individual win but limited team scoring.
