Edinboro @ Pittsburgh Recap
Pittsburgh Men's Wrestling topped Edinboro Men's Wrestling 23-12 in Pittsburgh, PA on December 20, 2025. The Panthers collected multiple bonus-point wins that ultimately separated the teams and produced the 11-point margin.
Pittsburgh’s offense featured a dominant technical fall at 133 pounds, where #33 Evan Tallmadge beat Landon Bainey 19-4 for five team points. Dylan Evans, ranked #21 at 157, added a 17-5 major decision that pushed the bonus tally higher and kept Edinboro from gaining traction in the dual.
Edinboro did get a big result when Ryan Burgos, an unranked #33, upset Pittsburgh’s #29 Jared Keslar 6-5 at 165 for three important points. That narrow decision, however, was countered by more Pitt bonus scoring. #17 Luca Augustine produced a 17-3 major decision at 174, and heavyweight Dayton Pitzer, ranked #16, closed with an 11-0 major decision at 285. Those major decisions were pivotal because they turned tight individual races into a clear team advantage.
In short, Pittsburgh’s string of bonus-point victories, including a technical fall and three majors, was the deciding factor. Edinboro’s upset at 165 kept the dual competitive, but Pitt’s multiple bonus wins created enough separation to secure the road victory.
