Pittsburgh defeated Navy 20-12 in Annapolis, MD on November 1, 2025, handing the Midshipmen a home loss in this non-conference dual. The final margin was shaped by two big bonus-point wins for the Panthers and a handful of tight, low-scoring decisions on the mat.

The decisive swing came from Pittsburgh’s two major decisions. At 149 pounds, #15 Kade Brown scored a 17-3 major decision over Kaemen Smith for four team points, and at 165 pounds Dylan Evans added a 9-1 major decision over Navy’s Dylan Elmore for another four points. Those bonus points created a cushion Pitt was able to protect the rest of the night.

Ranked matchups stayed competitive on both sides. Pitt’s #5 Mac Stout picked up a key decision at 197, beating Navy’s Payton Thomas 5-3 to add three more points for the visitors. Navy countered with #7 Danny Wask, who edged Pittsburgh’s #17 Luca Augustine 6-5, keeping the Midshipmen within reach with a quality ranked win.

Navy also got a signature upset at heavyweight when #29 Spencer Lanosga defeated #10 Dayton Pitzer 5-0, a victory that narrowed the gap late but could not overcome Pittsburgh’s bonus scoring. In the end the two majors separated the teams, and Pitt held on for a 20-12 road victory.
