Wisconsin Men's Wrestling rolled through Hofstra at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY on December 7, 2025, beating Hofstra 41-0. The Badgers piled up bonus points across the lineup, turning what might have been a closer contest into a shutout by the finish.

The night featured dominant showings from Wisconsin’s ranked wrestlers. At 133 pounds, #5 Zan Fugitt recorded a 16-1 technical fall over Gauge Shipp, and at 125 pounds #11 Nicolar Rivera also scored a 16-1 technical fall over Teague Strobel. Both techs were worth five team points and snapped runs of close pairings into decisive victories for Wisconsin. Joseph Zargo at 149, ranked #15, added a 21-5 technical fall that further widened the gap.

The pin by #18 Braxton Amos at heavyweight closed the dual in emphatic fashion. Amos’s fall not only secured six team points but capped a stretch where Wisconsin repeatedly picked up bonus scoring. Meanwhile Cale Anderson’s 12-4 major at 184 and Wyatt Ingham’s 14-1 major at 197 supplied additional bonus points that helped the Badgers build an insurmountable lead before the final bouts.

Wisconsin’s collection of tech falls, majors, and a fall made the difference. Hofstra was unable to answer with any bonus wins of its own, and Wisconsin’s ability to convert several matches into bonus-point victories determined the final margin.
